Not a social network. A personal one.
We built it to be a personal one, because we know exactly what the alternative costs.
A few years ago, we had an account on Facebook disabled overnight, and more recently, it happened again.
No warning. No real explanation. No appeal that led anywhere. Years of photos, messages, and memories of people and moments we can't get back. Gone, because a company decided we no longer had access to our own life.
Nobody could tell us why. Nobody had to.
That's what a feed built to serve everyone except you eventually does.
So Roots works the other way. Chronological, not algorithmic. No ads. No tracking. You decide who sees each post. Not strangers. Not an audience to perform for.
Roots spreads underground long before anything shows above the surface.
Quiet, real connections, growing where you don't always see them. But very much alive.
No one should be kicked off their own life without an explanation.
That's the whole reason this exists.
